First thoughts on the Primary Elections

Second week
August 2017

At a national level, Cambiemos did well in the election and it obtained close to 36% of the votes, consolidating itself as the main political force at the moment. If this is confirmed in October, it will be a boost for Cambiemos to tackle pending issues and achieve structural reforms during the second half of its administration.

In the Province of Buenos Aires, the election was “head to head” and, so far, the numbers indicate a “technical tie”. Only the final count of votes will provide the final figures. This parity is an excellent outcome for the government based on what the polls anticipated. Massa was in the third place, far from the top.
