Mauricio Macri lost primary elections against Alberto Fernández by an unexpected difference of 15 percentage points. We believe there is no real chance that the government can turn this result around. If this Sunday’s main trends are repeated in October, the Fernández-Fernández partnership will win in first round and there will be no need for runoff voting.
