A Change in Pensions That Falls Short
Third week
February 2020
The government announced a 13% increase as of March 1st for the minimum pensions and social programs, a little over the 11.6% increase that should have been granted according to the now suspended Retirement Mobility Law. For the rest of pensions, the increases will be lower than under the previous formula and decrease as pensions are higher. In Argentina there are 6.85 million pensioners, 4.4 million of which (65% of the total) receive the minimum pension, of 15,892 pesos per month since next March.
