Inflation in developed economies continues to slow down, although it is doing so at a lower rate than initially expected. Faced with a scenario of persistently high inflation and despite the recent financial turmoil, the Fed maintains its intentions to continue raising rates, and cuts are expected only for September. Foreign inflation helps and will continue to help prevent further deepening of the real appreciation of the peso.
